Description
On my way home from the Garden Center, I saw an Eagle soaring high in the sky. I wanted to stare at her and watch, but I was driving. As my eyes went back to the road, I spotted a huge nest. In the nest, I saw a Bald Eagle just sitting. :| Did I have my camera? NOPE! ~ Grrrr ~
I knew they'd be around a while, so I went back there yesterday. I used my 300mm lens with the 2X, and of course, tripod .. but only became frustrated because no matter how careful I was to press that button, it was a blurry image. Plus, it's a setup that won't auto-focus; so I had to manually focus. Do I trust my eyes? lol So, finally, I decided to take the 2X off, take it off the tripod, and only then was I able to get some decent shots. Cars slowed way down to see what I was doing - It was embarrassing, but I didn't care. I kept on taking pictures .. a couple hundred about.
I thought it would be appropriate to upload one of them on this day --- Memorial Day --- A day of remembrance.
Have a wonderful day ... thanks for stopping by!
Shari

What a magnificent bird it is and so much more significant because it was captured in the wild. Great POV and excellent pose. It is very appropriate for Memorial day.
Fantastic capture Shari... You did a great pic and in the Real nature is most dificulty. Hugs my friend
Intersting story so thanks for the description! Seems you had not the best light so it's a pity that the head is a bit overexposed to exposure the body in the right way. Nevertheless a nice shot! :)
Thanks, Shari, for your little story 'Trials of a Wildlife Photographer!' ... I do admire your patience and resourcefulness immensely. This timely photograph of such an elusive subject hits the right notes on Memorial Day. Hugs, Mike x

Wonderful capture Shari, and your very nice postworking does it great justice.
Excellent capture Shari.
Wonderful photo my friend! Hugs Jenny
Shari's a wonderful photographer - If she told me that she had to climb a tree to get the right shot, I'd say: "yep, that's Shari; always willing to suffer for her art." :-)
Great capture!
A most appropriate image for this Memorial Day, Shari, and even more special catching it in the wild as you did!
Very nice Shari, glad you took the time, he's beautiful and well worth it! :)
Great capture of that bird in the wild. Your work, time and troubles payed off!
Perfect. 5+!!!
He looks so beautiful setting there on that branch. A wonderful sight Shari and a great capture.
LOL, why would it be embarrassing to be stopped and taking pictures of this amazing bird. I would have blocked off the road. Excellent shot Shari.
Don't be embarressed gal, get out there and do your thing, like Lynell says block the road till you have your best shot. Superb capture, even more so as it was in the wild. We don't see wild eagles much in the UK, unless like a couple of years back, when one escaped. It was seen in my area, but I never found it. Excellent work, you really are a star. Bravo!!!!!
well your efforts sure paid off Shari what a beautiful eagal captured- so perfect for memorial day !!!.... i enjoyed reading your story too ...( i seem to always embarrass my kids/ family trying to get the shot lol it dosnt bother me one bit who cares as long as you get it hehe) sure hope/wish i could see an eagal out in the wild someday how wonderful!!!
Great Find!!!! I am enjoying your shot and story. ~Happy Memorial Day~
WOW! You were right. This is awesome and no WONDER you went back. Great capture and compo! Hey... it is Friday yet?
Great catch!
Beautiful photo.
Seeing them in the wild is such a thrill. I once camped by a lake that had 4 breeding pairs monitored by the Fish and Game. Awesom.
Still, a beautiful shot! Definitely worth it!!! Thanks for sharing.
