Description
I took this one in the gardens at the Biltmore Estate, and I did not get the name, so I had noticed that Andrea (durleybeachbum) had identified another flower on a post so thought I would put her to the test. To me it looks like a girl going to a dance, and I think she is even wearing a cowboy hat. Lets see if Andrea can identify this one for us. LOL ..
Update, on my foot and car, well I am still hopping around I was told to keep my foot flat when I walk on it and I am sure trying but ouch. And the car is getting fixed this afternoon, since Mick wouldn’t fly out and do it for me LOL, I would have made him lunch and everything, and I am an excellent cook. Maybe I should have mentioned that yesterday. LOL. Have a great day everyone, thanks for your support.

Oh! I see... It's a mysterious flower. Looks like a colorful dress. Excellent shot.
I don't know this flower but it looks like an orchid or something like this. I love her colors.
Your image is very well done. 5+.
Could this be orchidae landmine? No idea but it has beautiful and bright colors, well captured. I will check back to see if Andreas IDs it.
This is spectacular! A beautiful capture of whatever it is! Well caught, friend! :)
excellent image and what a gorgeous flower !!

Beautiful capture; my immediate reaction was to think of Lost in Space - "Danger, Will Robinson!" Yeah, I'm weird....
Very different kind of flower. Well Captured. Hope you and your car recover shortly.
I feel confident Andrea will nail this one, she is brilliant At the ident thing :), great capture Lynell, thought I'd keep out the way a bit in case I stepped back on that bad foot :)
Gorgeous colors, looks fantastic. A superb shot!
Stunning shot, and I haven't a clue what it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stunning colors. Really nice! No idea... :-)
superb shot !!
What a spectacular and extraordinary bloom! Like someone at Mardi Gras! But sorry to disappoint you, all I know is it's an orchid as the others say, but you're asking someone who is almost certain death to most houseplants!! We can't grow this exotica outside here (YET!) I'm sure someone who knows about this group of plants will be abble to give you an ID! A beautiful photo.
Great shot of this strange and beautiful flower.
A very unusual flower! Great capture!
It's very colorful and lovely Lynell
I see the cow girl here all dress up going to a cowboys dance place. wonderful looking

Fantastic colors on this strange flower. It does look like a girl in a dress. Beautiful capture, Lynell.
happy to hear your toe is ok :-) and wonderful capture for durley!!!
what a unique and gorgeous floral !!! hoping your foot feels better soon!!!
What an unusual bloom! And a stunning capture of it. I still think it would be a good idea to sit on your butt and let everyone wait on you until the toe mends. :-) I know its not necessary, but its a good excuse to be fussed over. :-)
Psychopsis Mendenhall 'Hildos' I found it here after a long search. Actually, I like the "girl going to a dance" description better than their technical one. Glad to hear your foot is doing better.
Dang Cosine that's just what I was going to name it....Awe not likely...I'm glad someone came up with it though. Great shot Lynell....
That is a GEORGOUS Orchid, Lynell! Wow! Such intense colour, and it does look like a lass spruced up for a high-tone and fancy to do, for sure! Beautiful capture and here's to hoping your foot is fully mended soon!
