Description
A McDonnell Douglas F-15C 'Eagle' and a North American P-51 'Mustang' flying formation during an air show at Luke AFB, Arizona.
The F-15 has been the air superiority fighter for the past 3 decades and the P-51 had been the main fighter escort during WWII for B-17 and B-24 bombing missions over Germany and B-29 bombing missions over Japan.
This picture was taken on 20 March 2005.

Great capture.
Well done, Sig. So sharp and crisp; you even stopped the P51's propeller.
fantastic capture my friend, excellent image
Spectacular shot, what a difference. Looks fantastic!
fantastic shot!
Incredible capture! Love these planes and it's great to see them together in the same image! WOW!
they look a little to close for comfort .excellent capture sig :o) mick
If I was in that P51, I would be a bit wary of the jets afterburners, like Mick says, a bit close for comfort. Superb capture Sig. Bravo!!!!!
Splendid capture, they were so close... very cool shot!
Great shot ;)
wow a big diff in the size and shapes of the two.
There was a similar formation at last year's Air and Water show in Chicago. I didn't go, but I saw them making a turn around where I work. An excellent shot!
Well caught!
I saw in Air & Space magazine in their choices of the 10 best aircraft of all time they picked the MIG-15. Because over 18000 were produced. Because it's simple. I could see one more nail in the Sabrejet coffin I first observed in an exhibit at Warner Robbins entitled "The Forgotten War."
Fun to comparate these two planes ! Great shot !
I love seeing those Mustangs and feeling the enormous horsepower. outstanding capture
Klasse Aufnahme:)
i think that one is more faster :)))) excellent shot !!
great capture !!
Way cool capture of two classic fighters!
Very good shot.
Nice picture. One's pedalling as fast as he can and the other is coasting.
superb shot!!!
Sig, even though I am not old enough to have been around during World War II, the P-51 is my favorite aircraft from that era. I also like the ME 109. Lea
