Description
The Phoenix Warrior isn't afraid of fire because nothing can compare with his inner flame.
Yet another picture which started as a freebie rendertest and turned into something entirely different, going from posing to another complicated light setup. I also wanted to create something bright and with color contrast.
This is kind of a pinup because he is just posing with all those flaming chains and not doing much else :P
And don't ask me how he is able to move without falling :)

Technical notes:
Not much: Hiro3 with Netherworks Aiko-X morphs and free muzzle morphs from Capsces, RNDA Easyposed chains x3, J'Quil Taio (DAZ, pants and boots), drape and sleeves by me (and I hope to release those freebies eventually :), Dark Paladins for The Freak shoulderpad (DAZ), Temple Ruins (DAZ), Free Cloth FX shaders by georgehaze, Pendragon's velvet shader, pwEffect on chains.
Multipass render with Pendragon's AO shader, nine UberPointLights (some with shadows, some are not), and LightDome Pro by Dreamlight (Midday, medium without ambients). Combined in Photoshop with minimum correction. Other than composition and some small work on hair and eyes (+ background, hand flame and frame) there is not postwork. Light from hand fire is rendered and not painted even if fire itself is.
I used Depth of Field effect with help of free DOF helper script.

The overall composition of the pic reminds me of something I'd see in a video game cutscene. His face kinda freaks me out though, as it has a not-quite-human feel to it. Although I do love not-human characters in any shape and form, I guess the work "phoenix" had me expecting a sharper, more avian-like face shape. I can also see the work and detail you put in the fire, and the way the lighting falls on his clothes. (His right leg in particular.) Other than the face, his pose looks a little akward. But as you said, I won't ask and he's a fantasy warrior. I'm willing to suspend belief to accept that he could take any position he would care to assume without dealing with silly stuff like physics and gravity. ;P Awsome job, and it's nice to see Hiro getting some love.:)
