Description
Nikon 7900 pocket camera - hand held image.
Here is the 2nd image in my week long series of insects that are about 1/8 inch (3-4mm) long. Yesterday I showed an immature nymph that I am not able to identify.
I am not sure if this is an adult or a newly hatched fly but I cannot identify it either.
Thanks to those who take the time to comment.

Wow. the sparse hairs and the bulging eyes are incredible. What detail. I've never seen a fly this young or this small or if I have, I probably swatted at it and flattened it. :-I
Brilliant clarity
Superb macro!
Excellent work Lee, I don't recall ever seeing one so small and this colour, I really have to get out and about more. To see whats hiding in my garden, having a pond in the rear garden there are always midges about, I will have to see if I can endure their bites and get up close. Superb capture. Bravo!!!!!
Beautifully transluscent! SUCH a good pic, Lee!
