Description
The sundial in my backyard that reminds me of better times.
Canon Rebel XTi 400D
Where Are You?
You are here, but gone from me
Memories can no longer be shared
Of the good times, the bad and
The music we loved to share
Where are you?
Love of my life, I miss you dearly
But my life must carry on
The mundane world I live in now
Seems barren without you
Where are you?
Do you feel free from it all?
Does the lack of memory mean freedom for you?
You're in your own world now
And my life must carry on
But without you
I'm here, but where are you?

Good poem and nicely arranged photo
A beautiful but sad poem and a very nice image of this sundial!
Beautiful image and poetry Deanna.
A thought provoking upload, I have never seen a sundail quite like that with two VI's and a big gap between them. It makes a great subject for photography though, love how you arranged the shadow for twelve o'clock. The prose is something else sad and poignant with great feeling, it made me think of the loved ones I have lost. Of my mother and father of aunts and uncles. A superb piece of work, both picture and prose. Bravo!!!!!
Lovely composition and light ;O)
Very nice picture!
he will always be in your heart, dear friend! hugs
Great shot erland
The Robert Browning quote on the sundial was written into a beautiful song by John Lennon, the rough tape which was discovered by Yoko after John had been murdered. Imagine how moving it must have been for her to hear it the first time. Check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1NZg2GJI5Y
Everything that happens to us we carry with us. And all that happens is essential in the making of who we are today, and will be tomorrow. So I say rather than mourn the past embrace it, because it is with you even today. It lead you to today. Wonderful image and quite a stirring poem as well.
