Some chatic forms in there Alex but I think I get the overall creation :). Ive also been looking at the formations & how they could be amended. In your image above it loks like there are either 2 isosurfaces intersecting or a Max blend used in the material ?!
@Woz: I used only one surface for creation of this world. I only have added one node (Noise) and a spot light source (a green luminescence below).Material of a surface the same as for "Sine City". Rendering without volumetric shadows. AA3, GD4. Check up your e-mail ;)

Nice, I prefer the latter one.
I think this is my favourite of the city scenes so far viewed. The title reflects the strangeness of the architecture. The building in the background on the left reminds me of a Peter Elson painting in terms of its design, though the setting and lighting are very different. I am scoring this as '5' for the originality.
