Description
This trio of musicians is waiting for the green light on "take 2". Hurry up and wait, as they say. This is #3 from my Passion Play series.
All instruments are easily identifiable except for the Psaltery, which is in the middle. It is similar to the Zither but is a medieval instrument and also the ancestor of the Dulcimer. The woman is tightening her bow while she waits. The flutist and hand drum player watch (with enthusiasm?!) as there is really nothing else to do!
Thanks so much for your support & visit.

Excellent capture... I have a handmade dulcimer upstairs... One of the strings broke and no one repairs them around here anymore... I got it cuz I heard that was what was playing on the Opening theme of Waltons Mountain..I was hooked on that show and John Boy grin Great pic sis Hugs Susan~
Quaint instruments abound! Very interesting display of a colorfully clad couple observing the tedious work of instrument repair. But what is with that humongous gray beard? It's like wearing a brillo pad. Anybody seen my shears?
I just love the expressions when they aren't center stage. :-) Wonderful composition.
Great, great, great, great, great! As a musician and veteran of theater—like you—I can only say you got it, you got it, you got it! This is the other side of theater, the boredom, the waiting, the long lags between numbers, and the chance to let down one's guard and just 'be'. To see people in those outfits—and that beard!—while they're just sitting around, suddenly turns these grave figures into next door neighbors who are wondering if they left the washer on. A great shot, and theater's in-between moment captured perfectly. Wonderful! Four stars, NYTimes—A must see!
I am not knowledgeable on musical instruments except that I recognize the ones here as being from Biblical times or before but I find it interesting and a good capture.
The seem to be thinking..hurry up and wait..:)
nice serie, Odie ! interesting and superb expressions, excelent pov !
Very nice shot...
I like the candor here! The sense of bored ennui between scenes. It's a wonderful capture in a wonderful series. It's also interesting that I'm seeing this in reverse...yeah, I'm catching up on galleries and I tend to take a retrograde motion! But aside from that, I like the "you are there" feeling of this image, as well as the capture of...well...that pause between events. Great work.
