This way UF greeted me today when I had my three-years old daughter sitting beside me and looking at a small fractal journey into a mandelbrot derivative.

After she has left me I dive into the lots of new files and finally start to explore Herman Ring M(a) from aho.ufm in Julia Switch Mode. It's grey outside, I am sitting at home and not in my office due to some flu and some aching in my legs that makes me lay down on my bed every ten or fifteen minutes. The guys from Red Hot Chili Peppers are my best friends today, Their "Stadium Arcadium" contains so many joyful songs, their dynamic style, the diversity of ideas even within one single song push me out of bed again and make me forget my legs. Whenever I try out a new setting or texture I start a plain render in 1000x1000 pixels without AntiAliasing to have a quick impression of the changes. This is important to get the textures look well enough in the final render.
And every test render gives Anthony, Michael, John and Chad the chance to bring some more sonic pressure on my loudspeakers.
One layer of my image is just basic: Standard colours, no UCL used. Another layer with "Distances Loop" from akl.ucl — pretty old stuff that I did not look at for years now. I use an Apo gradient with lots of earthy tones and greys as a contrast. Et voilà: Hot summer colours embedded in brown earth and hot white light send a warm breeze into my soul.
