Description
November 28th, 1944 and USS Ross DD-563 is docked in ARD-19 (floating dry dock), when a Nakajima KI-44 “Tojo” deflected off the number four 5/38 gun and crashed into the starboard wingwall of the ARD.
Fortunately the pilot did not arm his bomb and the crew was able to dispose of it over the side.
The Ross was being worked on after hitting two mines on October 19th. The mines destroyed both engine rooms and killed 25 crew members.
Eventually the Ross was towed all the way back to San Francisco, was repaired and returned the Pacific theatre in time for the surrender of the Imperial Japanese government in 1945.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
John 3:16-17 NKJV

Great Piece once again, and i must say this reminds me of a scenario from Battlestations Midway
I like the plating texture on this one, gives it that "used" look i myself usually prefer
Excellent scene once again.. love the mist at the end of the bay and how ships seem like ghost hanging there in within.. :)
