Description
Nieng’s mother, who had married a European man, was wandering with her daughter near our hotel. I asked her the right to take a portrait of Nieng. She was happy, later, to see her child on the LCD screen of my camera. I showed the image to Nieng, but she was too young to understand the situation.

Elle fut ravie, ensuite, de voir celle-ci sur le visualiseur de mon appareil. Je montrai l’image à Nieng, mais celle-ci était trop jeune pour comprendre la situation.

Wow she is so adorable! Very professional portraits, perfectly captured, natural-looking and carefully composed. One could beleive that Nieng on the left is looking at her closeup portrait on the right, and this is enhanced by the diagonal lines that make the border of the sidewalk and are repeated from one pict to the other one. An image which deserves great honors! 5+++++!

I am sad and shocked… After having posted this pict, I noticed quickly an important number of visitors… and a desert of comments! My sense of humor brought me to call this post "Nieng, a so sweet young girl", and to take for thumbnail a detail of the child's dress on which "SWEET" was written. I fand that funny. If this dress had nothing such written here, I had choiced the so cute little shoe for my thumb. I never imagined that this thumb could have any pornographic or erotic meaning. Is it not evident, at first glance, that we are facing a VERY LITTLE girl? Thanks to true image enthusiasts who like these photographs as such! Thanks also to all those who have left or will left a comment. Here particularly, it will be for me meaningful that they came as image lovers, and not as childhood profaners. Je suis triste et choquée… Après avoir posté cette image, j'ai très rapidement constaté un important nombre de visiteurs… et un désert de commentaires! Mon sens de l'humour m'avait amenée à appeler cette image "Nieng, a so sweet young girl" et à mettre en thumbnail la partie de la robe de l'enfant sur laquelle "SWEET" était inscrit. Je trouvais cela amusant. Si cette inscription n'y avait pas figuré, j'aurais mis la si jolie petite chaussure en thumbnail. Je n'ai absolument pas envisagé que ce thumbnail pourrait avoir un caractère pornographique ou érotique. Ne voit-on pas d'emblée qu'il s'agit d'une TOUTE PETITE fille?… Merci aux véritables amateurs d'images qui apprécieront ces photos en tant que telles. Merci aussi à ceux qui ont laissé ou laisseront un commentaire. Ici particulièrement ce sera pour moi un signe qu'ils sont venus en amateurs d'image et non en tant que profanateurs de l'enfance.

Comme elle est mignonne cette petite fille, ça me rappelle ma fille quand elle était toute petite comme ça, j'aimais bien lui mettre ce genre de vêtement et lui faire des couettes avec le peux de cheveux qu'elle avait. Tu as vraiment bien réussi ta photo, le cadrage est super bon !! bravo car ce n'est pas facile de photographier un enfant et si petit ;-) Bisous !

Qu'elle est mignone ! Je comprends que tu aies craqué. Allez, on repart avec ? Sur le plan technique, je ne vois rien à redire : cadrage, expo, composition... Tout me semble OK. En outre, tu n'es pas tombée dans le piège qui consiste à prendre les enfants d'en haut, tu t'es baissée.
I've spent some time in Vietnam vacationing and visiting friends. She almost reminds me of one of my friends daughter. Very, very cute and the most polite people you will ever meet. Love the pic!

L'esprit mal tourné d'aucuns est effectivement choquant et n'a d'égal que leurs fantasmes inavouables. Cela dit, l'enfance recèle des trésors d'esthétique photographique inestimables.
