Description

"Which Way to Ikonia?" Out on the far frontiers of the country, a visitor is a rarity. Nor are they especially welcome. The hardy peasants who have settled here did so for a reason: to be free from the avarice and demands of nobility, such as this knight who sits upon his charger, waiting patiently for the farmer to reply to his question. Slowly, eyes cast toward the ground, the peasant points toward the distant mountains. "Ikonia?" the knight persists. The peasant nods, again without meeting the kight's eyes. "You're sure?" The man points again in the same direction and nods a bit more emphatically. "May I water my horse?" the knight asked. His tone is surprisingly respectful. The peasant nods his head again and mumbles, "In the barn." "Thank you." Dismounting, the knight leads his horse past the corral gate and into the barn. After a few minutes, he leads the charger out and remounts. He cantors through the gate and around the corner of the corral, nodding toward the peasant as he passes him. Horse and rider head in the direction of Ikonia. "Good riddance," sighs the peasant. He stands watching the rider grow smaller and smaller. Only when knight and his mount disappear over a disant rise, does the peasant raise his voice to speak. "You can come out!" Shortly, his wife and three children climb out of a nearby gully. "What did he want?" she asked. "Ikonia." __________________________ Not much of a tale, is it? However it does go to show, Ladies, sometimes a man does stop and ask for directions. Heh! I believe Ikonia is either north or northwest of Svolklund. Does that help?

I think this is great, I like the story and the Moral of it (hehe), Nowdays its not much different, seeking peace from the high-nosed nobility of society, fearing with every stranger who aproaches might be hostile, even the Woman nowdays could be potentially dangerous, but thats about all thats changed ! Great Work !!!

Yeah, he told them correctly, Burpee. The peasant doesn't want trouble; just to be left alone to live his life.
