Description
Captured 2/25/08, around 7:30 AM, within walking distance of my domicile.
This species of poppy comes in various seed strains and a myriad of colors: yellow, orange, salmon, rose, pink, cream and white as well as bi-colored varieties.
And it does not like warm/hot weather, which will cause it to expire posthaste.
Tons of thanks go to our dear friend, auntietk, who supplied the identification and information regarding this fragile flower.
Thanks for the visit, and have a work week of epic proportions.

You are most welcome, mi amigo querido! I love Iceland poppies, and I think this clear yellow color is my favorite. Those crepe-paper petals are stunning. You've captured these beautifully. The light is just perfect! Nicely done!
I love these flowers as well, and these are wonderful!!!!
Realy great color and looks so big these wonderful poppy heads.
I may need a Bjork song to go with it.
Lovely close up of this poppy, and it looks like soon, you will be identifying all sorts of flowers on your own. Very pretty photo, Harry!
