Description
If you was east bound on I-10 that is going from Lafayette to Batan Rouge You would have seen the area I have takeing these photos of the "Atchabalaya Basin". That long bridge that is 18 miles long spans over the "Atchabalaya Basin". You could have see me in a small flat bottom boat called around here a John boat. May have other names I do not know.
This is two photos but it the same area. I had just the limbs of the tree in one and I had the tree in another but not the sinken house boat there in another so I put them together.
I did try to cross under I-10 but I could not find a path. They had a barrer of nature stuff in the way. I know they had some oil field stuff I wish to photo . I saw them going west on I-10 and been on them around 1980 and they still there. Maybe another time I get those shots.
I had many shots of I-10 but this is the best ones that came out
makeing a piano in a moveing boat do not work good at all
thanks for looking and comments and votes too

A nice shot Jock and an interesting story, Sig....
A familiar scene to me on the Atchafalaya! I'll keep an eye out for you next time I'm on my way to Baton Rouge or New Orleans!
Very long bridge.excellent shot.
Cool shot! That's fun, to see a highway you drive on from a totally different angle.
EXCELLENT CAPTURE , COLORS & BEAUTIFUL !!!!!

Wonderfull pano I-10 above Atchabalaya Basin capt'shot !! The colors & tons are superb ! The vegetation is still devasted. - a littl' to exposed perhaps - that make the image so bright & quite surreal, cool nice trip ! Thks ! xxxxx

Lots of depth here Joco, Fabulous shot!!!
Great 18 mile stretch! Nice work on making one image using two pics Jocko! Muis
Fabulous capture and mood, Jock!!!
Interesting and fantastic shot my friend.....!!!!
First your camera setting Jocko, they sometimes dissapear if you merge images as you have here or if you do too much postwork. This is some pano, especially as it was shot from a moving boat, great information to go with it as well. I will have a look on Google Earth a bit later, when I have finished my ebots. Glad you mentioned the sunken house boat I was wondering what it was. Excellent capture and postwork. Bravo!!!!!
I could not tell you how many times I have been across that bridge .Do they still have that house or house boat still along side of the bridge there. I always thought it would be the coolest to live in it except for the traffic noise LOL. Excellent shot my friend. You are always bringing back so many memories
before I read your title I knew it had to been I 10.I recall that stretch very well.off the side and one could be croc bait
excellent!!!
Quite intersting work on this view !
I really like all the browns and the one white car. Really good pano for being in a boat.
I didn't think that winter hit this hard that far south. I thought everything stayed green, but slowed it's growth. Love those winter colors. Cool shot, I like that bridge.
Really a long bridge...beautiful shot!!!:o)
This is not to far from Butte LaRose. I got stuck on this bridge for a couple of hours due to a 18 wheeler wreck. Never saw this from the water side. Cool Jocko. ;-)
Nice capture.
Great capture and thanks for the info !
