Description
October 25, 1944. Task Force 34 proceeds north toward an area off of Cape Engano, Luzon. Enterprise CV-6, Essex CV-9 and New Jersey BB-62 are just part of the 193 U.S. Navy fighting ships that took part in “The Battle of Leyte Gulf” one of the largest naval engagements in history.
Admiral William Halsey Jr. believed that the central IJN force coming through the San Bernardino Strait, had turned back. With the report of carriers to the north, the aggressive Admiral decided to try and destroy the remaining enemy carrier force.
The carrier Enterprise is seen here “wearing” measure 33, 4Ab. The bridge has the upgraded “round windows” for greater deflection capability and increased radar equipment, inlcuding SG radar.
The SG radar was of great importance to the favorable outcome of the overall battle, especially in the south, where Admiral Jesse B. Oldendorf managed to “cross the T” on IJN Admiral Shōji Nishimura’s force coming up the Surigao Strait.
As we have heard,
So we have seen
In the city of the LORD of hosts,
In the city of our God:
God will establish it forever.
(Plsalm 48;4)

looks like a photo. good job.
Great work! I remember reading about that battle, both in high-school, as well as college when majoring in US history. Nice historical piece, with excellent attention to detail that really brings it to life.
It looks absolutely fantastic! This scene is highly realistic.
I keep thinking that's not far from when the 'Marianas Turkey Shoot' happened...;) great work on the wakes, those aren't easy to do.
Cool lights on this one, really adds something dramatic
excellent render

Beautiful image, excellent colors, the scene is amazing! Great work...
Your wake is by far the best I've seen you do. Love the internal workings of the hanger bay, and the lighting and posing is excellent.
Cool image. I like the perspective of the 3 ships.
