Description
Workin
Yes, I do work
I have so many
Kinds of work
That I do
I used to work
At a real job
One that
Kept me way too busy
The kind that
Made me be there
Every single day
That kind of work
But now
I don’t have
To go anywhere
Until I want to
So today I worked
I dug and I trimmed
I sprayed and I cut
I did gardening
That’s the best work
My favorite work
Digging in the dirt
Getting PAID for it
But yeah there’s
Other work that I do
I clean I organize
I frame I move
Furniture clothes
Boxes stuff
Too much stuff
Stuff that should
Just be thrown
Away and isn’t
Just gets put back
Where it was
But that’s ok
Because it’s not
My stuff it’s someone
Else’s stuff
And they pay me
To move this stuff
To clean to garden
To frame to dig
And I love it!!!

love that ladder you have there, cool writing too
Hey very cool that you like to keep busy! and no worries, I know how it is being a pack rat {im a guy!!!} lol :-) very cool writing this Wednesday night :-) have a great one! hugsss Oh! and cool pic of your ladder and trimmers!
And if they don't throw out that stuff, they'll pay you AGAIN to come move it some more! LOL! That's a pretty good deal! :)
See? those are my rose loppers. No thorns in the hands when I use those. :-) Good words and photo.
You sing a song of a work of choice, and therein is the joy. Wonderful poetry.
so thats the meaning of life :o)..well written my friend .always a joy to read your work mick
I can relate to this, I think. I don't have to get out of bed unless I want to. I don't have to do any work any more, unless of course you count taking the wife to the grocery store. Wonderful prose Marilyn, I like how you've done the selective on the ladder, makes it 'pop'. Bravo!!!!!
Beautiful, Beautiful!
It's great doing things which are really fun and enjoyable...and getting paid for doing them.
This is fantastic, Marilyn...and I feel exactly the same way that you do. I hate the kind of work that chains you down. Oh, I get all sorts of hell for it, but hey...I prefer freedom, and what you've written captures that so perfectly. There's freedom and there's safety...and it's amazing how few people actually DO choose freedom. Great post: it's one that's made me think quite a lot about what I'm doing, wanting to do, and hoping to do...and "work" isn't high on that list, since work is a four letter word.
My Dad couldn't wait to retire so he could do the jobs he loved. He worked until the day he died, but at things he loved. He used to say it kept him young.
More insightful prose as to your daily existence, Marilyn. The description of all your chores can be boiled down into one word: multitasking.
I love my job too! I get to mix with all walks of life and make new friends along the way.
nothing better then getting paid to do what you love :)
