Description
A Fork In The Road
As I drive
Down this
Road we call life
There comes a time
When I see
A spot in this road
Where it
Splits in two
There are no signs
Nothing to help
Nothing to tell me
Which way to go
Down one road
I think
Is a familiar way
A familiar sight
One that I know
That I've been down
Many times before
Over and over
I know who lives
Down that road
I know who they are
And what they do
It's that other road
The different road
The unfamiliar road
That stops me in my tracks
It's new
It's beautiful
It's full of life
And surprises
So I stop
And I look
At these two roads
I stand there and wonder
What to do
It's the age old quandary
That old song
That old refrain
I have to decide
I can't just stand here forever
Can't just look at these two roads
Can't just stay in this one spot
So I move
I take that step
I put one foot in front
Of the other
And go down the road
And as I move down
This road down this path
On to whatever
Lies before me
I think
This is good it's right
And it's the next giant step
In my life

Nicely written, my friend! We all have those sorts of choices to make from time to time, and I can certainly relate to this!
this is so well written marilyn .i think i
ve been lucky more than once in the choices ive made on this rocky road of life .excellent my friend :o) mickTo many times we are cowards and always go down the road we know. it is good to come to those forks every once in a while and embark on a new journey. Very nice writting my friend :)
How often have we all stood here, it is so good to write of things which are familiar to everyone. Even if our decisions are different, as are our reasons for making them, we can all stand here in our minds and make them. Wonderful familiar feel.
Oft times, the unfamiliar road holds surprises beyond our wildest dreams.
now i love going off the beaten track down roads i have know idea where they lead...
This is deja vu, only yesterday on someone elses upload, the same question was asked, 'which way?' and it reminded me when my children were just kids, how we would jump in the car and go for a drive. When we came to a fork or crossroads or T junction, I would ask which way now, and one of them would choose which way to go. This would go on until we were lost, well they thought we were but dad always found the way back home. They used to love it, no matter which way we went, we always had fun. Excellent prose again Marilyn, you are going to have to write a book if you keep this up. Bravo!!!!!
Diversities are the spices in life ~ need to be adventurous in order to keep life exciting! cool pic as well :-)
very well writen work here. cool
well put and well written, enjoyed it
Love your prose.
This is a wonderful bit of prose and the image reminds me of an album cover! Both the image and the words go so well together and the quality of the artwork is top notch as always. It has that same raw feel as your other stuff and it's just a perfect compliment to your words! In short, I like this a lot. Forked roads are interesting, scary, fun...and if you're not careful, they'll lead you to the weirdest parts of Prague--unless of course, they go elsewhere.
