Description
One of the oldest and largest ships in the Vaygas Fleet was the Bug-C Class of Heavy Bombers. Each massive craft carried 4,Planetoid size solid spheres, each equipped with it's own mass driver. The bombs were constructed using cheap and plentiful materials, in most cases Gold. Gold, although a soft metal, proved best for concussion bombardment by it's shear weight. The Bug-C bombers would move into a stationary orbit above the target and drop their bombs. The mass drivers on each bomb would then fire, propelling the bomb towards it's target. This was a non-explosive device, the weight alone was enough to create massive impact craters on the surface.
Bug-C bombers were very simple to operate, having a crew of just 10, which is remarkable for it's size, with most of the personnel being engineers who worked hard to keep the old Trans-U engines working.
Considered ancient by War's end, many Bug-C's were converted into low rent cargo haulers and budget cruise ships, bringing tourists to the outlying lounges of both the Vaygas and Reen-Oh empires. You can still see many Bug-C's plying the spaceways, their former function mostly forgotten, in the era of peace that followed.

Those Lounge Wars are Sumptuous. Your story line is fantastic...keep em coming.
That's why they were winning, Reen-oh ships carried bombs that looked like giant disco balls and their blasters fired Lava Lamp goo. They intimidated the enemy with super amplified techno music ripoffs of earlier top ten hits. While all of these tactics were indeed formidable, they all were made obsolete by Vaygas's ability to reinvent themselves. It seems Vaygas simply adopted those war tactics as a new fad and build a casino class space station with that as its theme. They called it "Old Reen-oh"
absolutely fantastic storyline great and ambitious!
Wow, this is excellent. When I first saw the title I thought maybe there were going to be people flying around in space aboard tricked-out lounge chairs shooting at each other with super laser space guns. This is so much better! (^_^)
Must be the only time that Gold SUCKS, just after it has flattened the whole neighbourhood, but just think of the now vastly rich survivors...WAHOO ! I wonder if the Heavy Bomber is named after the famous/infamous crime lord Bug-C Ma-looney or Alca-Pony ? Out there buddy, nice balls and Mother of all pearly ships ! ~Cheese~
LOL ... cool storyline and excellent image. Well done.
