Description

Nikon 700 pocket camera. Just a look at the exterior of the house I am building. These were taken about 16 months ago. It looks like the grass needed mowing, lol. I usually quit mowing in September and let everything face the winter with whatever grows after that last mowing. The roof covers approximately 60'x60' but only about 1500 sq ft are heated because of all the porches. The single upstairs room is about 325 sq ft of the overall total. It is built on a severe slope that drops about 8' from front right corner to back left corner. There is a crawl space below that ranges from 6' high at one end to 4' high at the other end. I designed it and have built every bit of it except for pouring the concrete slabs and the main red iron frame assembly. It has been a very long project, lol. Lee

A labor of love often takes longer to get the results we want. Of course, you have had a... ummm, few? obstacles along the way. :o) It's going to be gorgeous when you get it completed. Bunny

Wow! Lee. Thanks for sharing this collage with us, I thinks it's fantastic what you are doing, I would love to be your neighbour(a few miles down the road of course not to crowd you out) and doing the same sort of project. Alas that is not to be, so thank you kind sir for letting us have a look around the outside of property, I for one appreciate it tremendously. I like what I see so far, and am sure that you will enjoy it immensly when its finished. Especially whith you having all those little critters as your neighbours. Excellent collage and a wonderful building! Bravo!!!!!

I am impressed! The living is both inside and outside and with the window design and the upstairs configured that way, the inside will feel a lot like the outdoors. It seems no matter what end of the house you are in, you have access to the outside. You might want to think about that crawl space in terms of a root cellar and the only thing I might have done is add a widow's walk up top for watching the stars and sitting and surveying this beautiful land. I'm thrilled for you and see that your abilities are so far reaching in many areas.
