Description
Ancient Kourion, Palm-tree, Cyprus 4
Archaeological Site ,Ancient Kourion, Palmtree Cyprus 4
The ruins of Kourion are located on one of the most fertile spots in the island Cyprus, with extensive ruins and including well-preserved mosaics. Also of interest are the public baths, the Nymphaeum, the necropolis, the Fountain House, House of Gladiators and House of Achilles. The most spectacular site at Kourion is the Greco-Roman amphitheatre, or forum (see my previous upload)
The site gives a good idea of how it would have been in the 3rd century AD!!,
and is positioned high on a hill overlooking the blue Mediterranean Sea.
The Palm tree was an inviting element on the site where it was so exiting to wander around!!
Thanks for your time passing by my gallery.

Although the top shot shows the lovely detail on the pillar, I much prefer the bottom that pulls in the palm with the ancient stonework. Excellent job though on both shots.
Beautiful captures with gorgeous sky colours - I love the arch framed palm! Excellent work!!

Two great images, Henk... I have a preference for the second where the palm tree is framed by the arch !

Beautiful views and compositions, Henk. The light colored rock makes the sky look even more blue.
