Description

This place is called 'Ettal Muehle' and is located at the turn-off to Schloss Linderhof and Reutte, Austria from the road between Ettal and Oberammergau. This place has a parking lot, and cross-country skier start their various tracks either along the Ammer toward Graswang, or Ettal, or Oberammergau. This place does not receive any sunshine at this time of year, but I think what has these trees laden with snow and coated with hoar-frost and ice is the fact that this area is a lush meadow with a moist climate and frequent fog. The temperature this afternoon at around 14:00 was -8C, ~17F. This photo was taken during my return to Reutte to get gas on 22 December 2007.
