Description
Another shot from Ann's garden, taken last summer. This is a bachelor button (aka cornflower, aka centaurea cyanus).
The sun was out today for a little while (!) and I actually got to go for a walk around my neighborhood and take some pictures! Yay! I haven't had a chance to look at them yet. Hopefully there's something good there!

Wow, you had sun, too!! It was warm enough for about 2 hours for me to keep changing my clothes; ended up with just tank top and a blouse. Then the fog came in and back on went the other layers!! Love the color on this one, just enough to give it that delicate look!!
Wonderful shot. These little flowers are great.
Really nice looking bachelor button....reminds me of when my daughter was going to college in Pullman and by her house was a field of them, I got me alot of seeds from that field...great picture.
usually the most common colour is blue so it makes a nice change to see a different colour . we have`nt been that lucky to have sun since last sunday .strong winds and rain order of the day :o(..excellent capture tara :o) mick
Love the color, and it's even nicer to see this time of year.
Like your(nearly) square crop. Suit so well for this compo. Wonderful soft pink flowerhead.
Beautiful work, Tara!
I love the really dark background, it show the bloom off perfectly.
Beautiful capture
Well your title brought a smile to my face Tara, many years ago I used to be on the CB radio and one of my wind-up handles was powder puff, I used to go on with a bit of a camp voice and wind people up. I always owned up in the end though. Excellent capture and I just love those pastel shades. Bravo!!!!!
Oh, it is always so exiting to see what came out of the shots :) This is very lovely flower looking like a little ballerina skirt. Well captured :)
This is a treat! Grey and rainy here, and this lovely capture is a tonic, the colour, composition and everything are all uplifting!
Excellent picture. Todd

A beautiful shot! I love bachelor buttons. We used to grow them at our first house. I should make room for them, somewhere, in the garden.

Sun...I've heard of that before... LOL This s a great macro! The fullness of the flower is so well done! Good definition as well.
A pulchritudinous flower (Centaurea cyanus)! It is national flower in Estonia. Thank you!!!
Beautiful flower...
Yes usually just see them in blue, this is a lovely soft pink. We had partly blue skies but alas the sun was still hidden behind those pesky clouds. Now today back to rain:(
Excellent Shot!!!
