Description
Captured close to midnight, about .70 of a mile/1.127 kilometers from my domicile.
For several years I had walked by the front yard of this pooch's home in the early morning, and try as I might, I was never able to make friends with this canine. I tried talking nice to him, showered him with compliments, even threw him scrumptous doggie snacks, but his animosity towards me continued, and nothing I did mellowed him. Consequently, I just chalked it up to him being an anal retentive and let it go at that.
Later on, I just happened to saunter by the animal's home late one night in January 2007, and he was out there in the cold, by the fence, growling up at me as usual, but, strangely, also glowing in the dark. So, somewhat baffled by all this, I snapped his picture -- WITHOUT a flash -- and, as you can see, this is what came out. Up to then I had thought all along that this was just a mean, garden variety, vicious old mutt from a bad childhood, but as it turned out, he was actually Satan's pet. Evil on four legs. Rosemary never had anything like this.
Hope you had a nice weekend!

Ha ha great 'tail' you tell Harry! Makes for an interesting composition with your postwork and yes he does look rather like the Devil dog, but really beneath all of that he is a pussy cat. Just ignore him, look the other way and you will find that the growling will stop. He is just guarding his property and not sure what to make of this gent with a strange camera LOL hugs Jane xx
Sorry, all you dogs-are-the-sweetest-thing adherents, but this mutt is brutish and mean and wouldn't hesitate to take a big chunk out of your arm, leg or throat. Killer instinct to the Nth degree. Believe me.
this is cool. i came across some of hispups before too. this is super
As a former postal person (the un-grunteld kind), I've had up close and personal encounters with this creature's relatives. They are NOT nice dogs, and I was bitten twice, once by one of those little yappers that seems so innocuous. I dropped kicked him across the yard, (sorry, Jane, it was my first reaction to get him off my leg!!) and limped back to my mail jeep to stay upon my appointed rounds. Course then, I had to report it, fill out the forms, go to the doctor, grrrrr!! Sorry if i digress, Harry, this just brought back some memories!! It IS a great shot, no matter what!!!
That is real creepy. Someone taught him to "roll over" and he ended up in a vat of highlighter ink! Even the eyes glow...
This is cool :)
A Stephan King canine for sure...forget the name of the big dog that liked to chew convertable car tops..
Yep, Kujo's cousin it seems! LOL, Harry. I enjoyed your narrative of this Devil-Dog! Great work...
WoW, this is what I call postwork. Mean this dog deep in a bones.
Holy cow, he does look somewhat demonic, were you not scared Harry? Glad to see you were able to make it home alive!!
Well, my friend, I'm glad you lived to tell about it! I'm sure your wonderful postwork only enhances the dog's inherent evil personality. Excellent work! And thanks for the story, too. :)
