Description
Captured 10/29/06 at the Wings, Wheels, Rotors and Expo show held annually at the beautiful Joint Forces Training Base on the beautiful Los Alamitos Army Airfield in beautiful Los Alamitos, California.
I'm posting this particular shot of the F-16 because TwoPynts mentioned that the plane in yesterday's photo was missing part of the nose and wings. Like myself, no one else felt it was that big a deal, but just to leave no stone unturned, here it is with a slightly different POV, in all its sleek and gorgeous glory.
Incidentally, I would have preferred it without the red apron covering the engine intake, but what are you gonna do? You gotta take what's offered, especially on a military base.
For very detailed info on the jet, check out my January 6 posting.
Have a wonderful and worthwhile work week.

Enjoy the Air shows...Livermore Ca. has a show every year that has the old world war 2 planes highlighted... they even let you crawl through several of the old bombers..gives a person an appreciation for what the men serving in them endured... Thanks for sharing these..
Another nice shot of the F-16. I would like to see it it up close! (someday!)
Another excellent shot of this magnificent plane, and love the POV Harry. It is good to get shots of subjects from different perspectives in my opinion - bravo my friend for yet another fabulous piece of photography - hugs Jane xx
I like this angle too Harry. More of the nose approach today, yesterday shot was concentrating on a cookpit area what I realy did liked.
love this pov here. the red do not bother me at all. cool shot
Fabulous shot ol boy, the POV rocks!!
great shot...
Ahhh. Thank you for the information about the red apron. I WAS wondering. Another fine shot, my friend! Excellent work.
My introduction to the F-16 was Ed Heinemann and Dave Lewis. I first got up close at the pad next to the main plant where it taxied from Sikorskiy Airport. Today after it's success I don't think you know how extreme were the curses of those who wanted a light weight fighter with only a gun. The surprise on this now it that the canopy is not gold.
Hey don't mind me and my little nit picks. ;'D It is true that yesterday's angle was better for showing off the 'pit. But thanks, I like this one a lot!
Although I haven't as much interest in military shows as you might have, your images are interesting and remind me of the times that we did go to shows like this and tour the insides of large craft like "Puff, the Magic Dragon" from the Vietnam war and getting to sit in the pilot's seat of a B-52. Thanks for the memories, Harry.
