Description

Nikon 7900 pocket camera - hand held image. Here is the 2nd image of the last Mabel Orchard Spider I managed to come across this year. Getting a sharp focus on tiny spiders suspended by silk lines is not an easy task for me or my my camera. I tried about 25 shots of this one on it's web and this is the best of the bunch. Not the sharpest image I have ever captured but apparently about as good as I can do, lol. Tomorrow I will post an image which demonstrates how small these colorful little spiders are. Thanks to those who take the time to comment. Lee

It is always nice to have something so as to gauge the size of these little critters, because we can blow them up to fill the screen a lot of people don't realise that some of them are that small you could get half a dozen or more on your finger nail. Although you are not too happy about the sharpness of this image Lee, you have still captured some of the fine detail, even down to the tiny hairs on it's legs. Thos front ones look very long compared to the body of this one. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!

I was going to say what a big spider you found but it sounds like he's not as big as he looks. Great shot regardless.
