Description
Something of a merging of my hobbies: Space and balanced stones. The foreground silhouette is from a recent array of stone-sculpture I did a few weeks ago (which fell over the next day in a storm - the joys of delicately balanced rocks!) and the background is an entirely fictional starscape built in Photoshop.
My inspiration, I will admit, was the amazing stone monuments constructed by our ancient forebears that still amaze us to this very day.
Thanks for taking a look. Oh, if anybody is interested in something like this as background material for their own projects, drop me a line and I'd be happy to send JPEG, PSD, or whatever format you prefer your way (I plan to offer these on the freebie page at some point, but I'm still assembling enough to make it worthwhile for someone to want)

Your title and the image are intriguing~ =) I see expanded thought visualized~ Nice graphics!
Impressive and creative art image synthesis DrO! The dark areas formed by the rocks add dramatic tension to the hig quality night sky view and may be the best examples yet of "Dark Matter". A good Sci-Fi book by Verner Vinge, "Marooned in Real time", has intelligently stacked piles of rocks, or carns, as a major plot device. I bet you would enjoy this book. Certianly this image would make a good cover for it!!!
So pretty & surreal
A Wonderful Creative Number, Very Nice Indeed.
Excellent Image! Great concept! 5+
WOW!!! Brilliant!!! And you're telling me I have patience?:)))) Wow!!! I bet it takes more patience and time for the balancing, and 3D work!!! (I suck in both anyway:))Awesome silhouettes on that fine starry night!!! Fabulous job!!! Greetings!!!:)
The closeup on this is a must! Awesome starry silhouettes!
NOW THIS ROCK ;-)
Beautiful deep space composition!!!
do look timeless. as if the people in the past builded this. maybe on day you can do this in a large scale like them. maybe you can get the idea going and get a rock park builded and you design it while others put up the money for you. just a idea
That is a keen space scene...
Cool!! Like the silhouette effect!!! David W
