Description
Each year we take part in a 5k to raise funds for cancer treatment. This year over 3500 registered entries.
I got to meet this precious 4 year old girl. She faces many more months of chemo and radiation for a cancer type that appears to affect children from 3 to 6 years or from 17 to 20 years. Prognosis is not good but cure can happen. At her age, perhaps she will face the unknown better mentally than we would as adults.
I had taken a family shot previously and when she was out of mom's arms and sitting, I held up the camera and she looked diretly at me, then had a slight smile. I got this picture. She is a sweetie and grabbed my heart.
There were perhaps 100 entries in the 5k all on her account. Such fine support is always uplifting to a family facing the unknown but with hope.

I saw this face and before I read your words, an overwhelming feeling came over me. There was something about her face, the look in the eye... something, that told me she was stuggling. You have obviously done a great job of finding the message with this shot.
