Description
This is the end of my bark series. This was my favorite bark. Unfortunately, not one of my photos turned out very good. I was facing the sun, and had lens glare, too much light, or the photo was partly out of focus. I tried enhancing it in postwork, but was having no luck. So I just started playing with it... and these are the results. I liked it and was really happy with the final outcome. (and I always say full-size is better.)
As for the kind of trees these may be... I haven't a clue other than they are really big trees and the birds and squirrels liked them. LOL.
Now coming up with a title is one of the more difficult aspects for me. As I was sitting here staring at the photo, hoping inspiration would strike...lol... My daughter came into the room, so I asked her for her thoughts on a title. The first thing that popped out of her mouth was, "Elder of the Forest". I thought that was a much better title than "Manipulation in Bark" which was all I had... So I went with hers.
Thank you for viewing and commenting on my bark series and the previous upload, "Bark~2" . I like to read what you all have to say. Please keep stopping by and commenting!
Thank you to all the Veterans...

Very interesting postwork and bark image:)
Your added texture to the already deep texture of this bark is very interesting and I like it. This is an amazingly deep and aged look for sure.
Say, is that a canvas or burlap texture effect I see used in this photo of the craggy bark? Difficult to believe that bark could be this rocky, like the closeup of a meteror flying about in space. Terrific lighting in this effort. And, I think your bark photos came out pretty good. I thought you had several more to show. Anyway, stay tuned for an onslaught of my bark pictures to come. Not all at once, of course. Gotta break it up to avoid boredom among the viewers.
Hey you have done great postwork on this one, there is nothing better than playing around to see what you can come up with. Well this looks great and added some more interest to that old craggy tree. Congratulations!!!
nice...........
Looks to me like a reindeer crashed into a large mud wall. You can see the antler marks deep into the surface. Ok, maybe that's just me! Cool bark texture. Todd
the canvas texture works very well for your bark capture
You find a wonderful patern created by a bark wrinckles. Great light and realy cool texture.
Looks like an ent, squinting into the morning sun. I like it.
Two big nostrils and a squinty forehead covering the eyes...cool effects..
WOW! Such a gorgeous image! It is a great 'last peek' here at Renderosity until I arrive at my next destination later today, and it is a Fantastic image! I love the canvas effect you applied to this already stunning piece of work. It adds an extra textural dimension that makes an already compelling piece even more so! I DEFINITELY love this piece!
Your daughter has a way with words - that's a great title! I love the shot, and the way you handled it is wonderful. Nice work!
