This was taken down at my in-law's new place just outside of Napavine, Washington. There's something fun and fascinating about cattails, isn't there?

Lovely! This sure is the time of year to be cutting some for a dried indoor display. This made me blow up the picture to super-sized, looking for Moses! I would love to challenge you to cut one, wait until it's dried out, brush against it, and then photograph the amazing spiral of silvery white threads that will blossom out of it! May I? (Oh dear, I am rambling on a bit.....is that catching?)
I have to agree with Frankie on this as I've always thought they looked like corndogs!! LOL Fun shot Tara!
Nice picture, and if you watch survivor man then you will see there are many ways a cattail can save your life. Todd
Love the added contrast and the texture! Great shot and postwork!
Nice shot. I do wonder how the same plant became associated with both cats and bulls though...
When I was young, my mother cut cattails and dried them for a winter arrangement in the house. They are such amazing plants and you have done an excellent job of shooting this one.
do you remember way back in the 70's people used to have these in tall vases as a feature in their living rooms...wonderful shot of pussytails...
An interesting flower. Excellent. Aloha

I always find something very peaceful about cattails. And they have a very fall kind of feel to them. Nicely captured shot. Really see the texture.
they seem to be plentiful around N. Texas and even as a kid I was amazed at their beauty
