American English: Cattail

This was taken down at my in-law's new place just outside of Napavine, Washington. There's something fun and fascinating about cattails, isn't there?

Beautiful Bullrush.
I always remember ours as being a dark brown, this colour is much better I think. Excellent capture, beautiful colours, even the tree in the background. Bravo!!!!!
Amazing details!! Excellent shot!
Great shot, and cattails are something pretty cool!!
Wonderful capture!!1
What a pretty picture. It reminds me of my childhood on the farm where we had many cattails growing along the little creek at the bottom of the hill. It also reminds me of the red-winged blackbirds that built nests in them, or at least near them (I'm too old to remember the fine details).
A really exellent shot of this beautiful Dunhammer (downhammer), as we call it here in DK :))) Very beautiful color.
Ah, a bulrush! I love this perfect composition.
Fantastique contrast avec les couleurs du fond!

It is a wonderful capture, Tara. I like your name for them too! Great details and colour in this work. Hugs. Diane.

Facsinating plant that is for sure. Captured with style, like a bright look of this shot.
I agree! Very beautiful work!!!
Kind of reminds me of a Hot Dog on a stick... (I missed lunch). Nice shot...
Indeed! They are awesome plants!! I love these plants! I mostly love the remove the fur though:)))) and then blow it on the wind:))) But it's just a little immature of me I know;)))) hehehe! Awesome photo, Tara!!! Very vell centered and great colours again!!!
They've always been special to me. I used to pick a bundle of them for my Grandma all the time; she just adored them; and she'd put them in a huge glass vase in her livingroom - they'd last for months. :) This makes me think of her and her cattails... thanks you :)
i love cattails. You can use the yellow pollem on them in place of flour and make bread and you can eat the roots too. cool shot
Excellent and creative shot. Bravo!!
Lovely and interesting plant:)
Oh wow, call it what you will, but to me that is a weiner on a stick! Slab some mustard on it and away we go! Of course, would first have to scrape those little particles off the skin but that's okay. Wonderful clarity, colors and composition in this macro, Tara. BTW, after sitting here for a while and being lulled into a state of near somnambulance by the hum of my desktop computer, I often hit the old sofa for a nap or three during the day and/or evening.
