Nikon 7900 pocket camera - hand held image.
I had pretty well given up on getting any new Dragonfly shots this year. The few I still see around keep their distance. Then, much to my delight, I saw this little guy at the pond. Not only is it a species I had not seen before, it also allowed me to get several pics. There will be one more to come.
Thanks to those who take the time to comment.

They are hard little guys to get pictures of!! They never sit still long enough for me! Good job....would have liked to see him a little closer though It would be nice to see a lttle more detail!
Great shot !. I rarely see red dragonflies in my pond . Very lucky . Thanks for sharing ! ana
nice shot...
Mine are all gone for this year. Well caught.
Excellent capture Lee, look forward to the rest of them. I think these are the best flying insect out there, the shape of them is fantastic. One of natures greatest creations in the insect world. I could sit and watch them fly about all day. Nice that it's a new one for you as well, you must be very pleased with that, I know I am. Bravo!!!!!
This is a very different one to be sure. I like the detail and can't wait to see the other one.
What a beauty! Superbly captured. Bunny
