Description
Nikon 7900 image.
Yesterday I posted a side view of this colorful little spider.
Today I am showing the bottom view. This is almost always the pov I see when I notice one of these critters. The four red spots on their belly is very vivid, especially if the sun is shining on them.
Unfortunately, the only way to see this view is to look at them when they are on their webs and even on the calmest of days, these webs move slightly, lol. This movement combined with the very small size of the spiders, make this pov a very difficult one for me to capture. Locking in on tiny subject suspended in mid air on a moving web is not the easiest shot to get, lol.
Todays image suffers a bit because of this movement but out of hundreds of attempts over the past 2 years, this is by far the best I have managed to get.
Tomorrow I will post a top view.
Thanks to those who take the time to comment.

Stunning shot Lee, You have a vast veriety of creatures in your back yard. After reading your info along side this image, nature has made you a mere mortal like us with slight movement of the web. I sometimes feel quite humble when I see the quality of your photography, and quite an honour for me to share the same pages here on RR. (I appologise if that sounds a bit over the top but I say things how it is)
Can say for sure that I have neve seen one of these..uniquely colorful..nature's art..and nicely captured..as always..
Even nasty little scary things can be beautiful. Nice shot.
So Gorgeous, only one of our spiders is this colourful, I'm quite jealous. thankyou for persisting so we can all see it.
Beautiful capture!
How colorful!
After reading artaddict2's comments Lee, I have to agree to a certain degree, it's nice to see you are human and sufer the same as the rest of us with movement of the web. Like you say even in the calmest of days the webb moves about to a certain degree. I have found that even trying to get in close to the spider the pressure from my body sends the web moving slightly. I was out yesterday having another go at my friendly 'Harry the Spider' and as always as soon as I get near the web starts dancing then he in turn starts moving. I will persevere and hopfully upload a pic of him this week. As for this photo, even with the slight movement it is still a great capture like Frankie96, I too can say I have never seen one of these before. I thank you for sharing this very colourful little critter with us all. Bravo!!!!!
Great image . I can't wait for the next one . Thanks for sharing !! Ana
Wow!! He looks like someone has taken the time to paint his little belly!! As far as the movement goes ....you don't really notice it that much because the spiders colors make you focus on him! Great shot am looking forward to seeing him from the top!
Those colors are just amazing. If all spiders were this beautiful, I might not find them so unnerving. I might have to post my spider picture next. I have a spider that has some interesting markings on the underside...
Very nicely taken, but I think the DOF is a little too thin. Stopping down a wee bit might have brought it perfectly.
The colors of this spider are fantastic, but it's a spider ! brrrrr ! LOL !
Pretty amazing capture. Love the colors on this. Excellent shot. Bunny
great capture....
Great capture of this spider...
nice pose : )
