Description
The Bird of Paradise flower is a symbol of the Island of Madeira. It can be seen growing just about everywhere.
The reference to Jeff(JeffG7BRJ) in the title, was that with last couple of Jeffs posts he included a funny little poem that mentions a bird of Paradise.
Couldn't find a real Bird of Paradise! for you Jeff.
Thanks for viewing. Have a good evening.

Truly magnificent artwork. Very attractive subject and composition. Fine technique.
What a lovely flower! You can really see the bird shape! Nice shot!
The verse that I tagged onto my post actually comes from a Old Time Country Music song Alan, by Little Jimmy Dickens and was I believe performed by him at the Grand Old Opry on more than one occasion. I don't think he sang that song as beautiful as this flower is though. I did know there was a plant by the same name Alan but I didn't think I was going to get on dedicated to me. So thanks for that, I don't mind at all. Bravo!!!!! Re Saturday/ Sue might be able to take you I can give her directions, see you tomorrow.
Oh yes, very beautiful picture and perfect color and light ! Good day :)
A wonderful capture of this gorgeous flower Alan. Very nice dedication too. Hugs for you both. Diane.
Yeah, cool to show it!!!! It is in Madeira that I've seen the moost beautiful birds of paradise!

Remarkable form and beauty!
Fantastic light and detail! Love the POV too!!! Great shot!!
I have always loved these flowers and 3 years ago I finally bought one. I've never had a bloom. After researching it on-line, it seems there are two varieties...one produces many beautiful flowers and is relatively low-growing. the other kind is very tall and doesn't produce many if any flowers and used more for a hedge. Guess which one I stupidly bought?
Wow - Beautiful!

Excellent shot!! Very beautiful flower.
We have several bird of paradise plants in our yard in Florida, but, although they grow and bloom, they don't seem to thrive as well as these! Wonderful capture! :^)
I was fascinated by this flower since I was a kid. Well...I cannot help myself now...Wonderful!
