Description

From a sketch made in a library of a picture in a book on famous military encounters - minus the creature of course! Basic Vue set up and render painted-up in Photoshop. M3RRs (with a combination of Poserworl and PoserStyle clothes), and a Poser Horse and a Dreampaint 'smongler'. All mocked-up 'Look and Learn' style. Thanks for looking.

This is very clever, you don't see the creature right away because the red coats grab your eye, then it hits you...

Nice job! I somehow don't remember that tome having full-bleed. Guess it did.

The Prince seems to be bored even by an octopodal monster running rampant in his woods. Thank God his Sgt @ Arms is on the ball. Lots of nice details my favorite, the leaves, very painterly and abstract and yet totally says autum leaves blowing along the ground. Nice muted color pallette as always.

...so that's how we defeated the Redcoats! Great work!

Eugene of Savoy's brilliant victory over the Great Old Ones at Taisniere is indeed one of the more stirring stories of successful military daring, and it's a great pity it isn't really taught in school anymore. Thankfully, we still have these wonderful books of yesteryear to preserve the story for today's generation.

This is not only a brilliant mock up of an old book illustration but a really fun picture in itself. Really imaginative and fun.

It's very well done. Normally I'd say that such painting simulations are just a way to make a poor render look interesting, this is not the case here. Wonderful illustration-type outcome.

Such a wonderful unexpected twist to this one, as the eyes follow the path of the soldiers to the creature, wonderful style as always and a great scene.
