Description
This is a shot of Mt. Hood from my Vista Ridge hike of last August. I like the way it shows just how craggy and young, geologically speaking, the mountain is.
Thanks for stopping by and any comments.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ESPECTACULAR!!!!!!
Wonderful shot. Looking at Mt. Hood from a distance one would never imagine it is so craggy.
Yes, hardly any erosion on that at all.. Great place and shot !
Wonderful shot of this gorgeous mountain with the forest in the voreground! Beautiful!
Those really are some sharp rocks! I didn't realize it looked like that. Thanks for the "up close and personal!"
This snow in August thing always amazes me. Being from the east coast where there is not anything high enough to keep it's snow all year round, this always surprises me. In the height of the summer, does the snow/ice get soft and crumbly or stay firm and icy? I love the sharpness of this mountain, and the bits of snow still clinging to it add a lovely accent. The erosion runnels in the snow are fascinating, almost a harbinger of things to come in the stone.
You have such breathtaking vistas. Your shot could not be better. Diane.
A beautiful capture of Mt Hood, It still looks solid to me!! Have a nice day!! Henk
Oh my! Can’t get over the depth of this image! Bravo Dennis!
