This is a member of the WildSide, a comic my friend Rob, Julian and I may be pitching to Image. She's a lot cooler looking later down the road but I need to familiarize myself with the characters again so I have to start with their current looks. Obviously, this isn't a warm up really...I just didn't know what else to call it. I'm basically getting comfortable penciling and inking the characters (I used to just ink them over Julian). There's some problems with one of her fists and her foot's not facing the way I wanted but it's okay. You have to start somewhere right? Interestingly, though my penciling style is sort of a mix between Barry Windsor-Smith, Adam Hughes and Joe Mad, my inking is still very much Scott Williams like. What I never noticed before is how much it makes my work look (at least to me) like early Jim Lee/Travis Charest when inked. I guess that's good but it's not what I was going for. Anyway...the beat goes on. I'll keep you all updated on how the pitch goes.
