Description
I've always got my little camera stuck in a pocket or in hand when I go on my "walk abouts" out at the Hollow. These wild asters (think that's what they are) are in bloom and I was taking a photo of them when I saw something move. I couldn't believe my luck! There was a grasshopper, eating the petals of this beautiful flower! I couldn't get too close as I was afraid he'd leave, so this it folks. I would have liked a less busy background, but cropping was the quickest way.

Great macro, Rita. I had a chance like that this morning. A grasshopper leaped up on the glass door leading out to my patio and just sat there hanging out. Unfortunately, I was in a hurry already to get to work, so I missed it. ;(

What a funny little green chap we have here... "FOOD" is the code-picture in these hungry days... isnt it? In the land of plenty - behind the seven mountains? We call those "Hay Jumpers"... and you call them grasshoppers. Nipping some nectar.. eh?
Cor, any closer and you would have been lunch. This really is an excellent macro of this little green fellow, you can see so much detail on him. You've caught him at a great angle.
