Dust is a 1998 science fiction novel by Charles Pellegrino depicting a collapse of the planet's ecosystem due to the disappearance of insects which fed upon the dust mites and bed bugs. The populations increased into the trillions which caused the collaspe. These tiny, blue inscects have been feeding on the grass on our lawn. There are colonies of them and they look like someone has spray painted parts of the lawn. I think they're aphids but they sure like strange, in an alien type of way. side note - my wife think's they are spores. Thanks for looking.
