Description
The goal here was to get the look of an old oil painting of an alchemist but to have him wear some high tech glasses. The whole thing is a postcard design for Alchemic Dreams.
Did a reference shot of my girlfriend for the alchemist and ended up just manipulating and over painting the photo, so it’s more a photo manipulation than actually a painting :-). Oh, well digital makes it possible ;-). And no, she doesn’t have such a nice beard in real life, haha…
Hope you like…

Well done indeed! A great character!
I don't think this qualifies as photomanipulation since you completely painted over it AND I doubt your girlfriend remotely looks like that alchemist. Nice job, Uwe!
Good 2D work!
Another beautiful piece of artwork! Lovely
WOW! Amazing work! :)
~Outstanding~ So Creative & Magically done... EXCELLENT!! ^5^
Wonderful Artwork!!!
It reminds me of the comics made by an artist called DON LAWRENCE. He also mixed SF with well ancient stuff. You should look into him. Your picture looks interesting and gives some form of anxiety, whose hand is that?
This looks amazing! Impressive painting! I wouldn't call it photo manipulation either.
EXTRAordinary! Fantastic work here. Rich in every respect, composition, color, detaining and most important the concept...+++++5

Fantastic Character, Excellent work!!!!
Wonderful drama in this scene. And how fun your girlfriend posed for what turned into a very fine painting. CC
I call it "excellent".
Awesome! You would never have guessed it was a photo reference, and I believe as digital artist you don't have the luxury of traditional artist, having something tangible to paint.
Wow, fantastic work. Love the green glow a lot. Fantastic.Very dramatic scene.
