Wonderful analogy, Linda, the tube. It acts like a life preserver, however, it is different, too. There is fun to be had in a tube, as well as peaceful, relaxed, carefree floating. This is a wonderful fun and profound poem. You are so cleaver to tip that tube, giving the sense of one floating in it. The image is wonderful with a beautiful sky/water scene.
