Unless I allow
Tall as the sky
You see me for me
Hey

“Sticks and stones”*
May break my bones
But words will never…
Hurt me like you have
Probably will
Would have said more
Understand will not help
So what does not care?
Just wanted more
A love you do not know
Cannot seem to grasp
Nor comprehend
A deep feeling
In hot water
Grows wild inside
Yet tamed outside
No longer afraid
But still hold back
Figure it out somehow
Special reads my mind
A smile here and there
It is okay to wait and want
Words will never…
Unless I allow
Hurt me like you have

So wonderfully profound. I think indifference is the most hurtful human response. Love and hate are opposites of the same coin, but are an action. Indifference is like a statement that you don't exist. Wow! What could be worse. Really excellent poem, Linda. Touches me deeply! Oops! I forgot to tell you that I really like your terrain.
