Description
Captured 9/05 at the beautiful South Coast Botanic Garden located in the beautiful Palos Verdes Peninsula in Southern California.
This pink princess, according to my sources, is of the Wootton Impact semicactus variety. Incidentally, there are several varieties of dahlia that look virtually alike, so I'm taking a chance here identifying them.
The petals remind me of those scoop shovels you find in the raw bean and rice sections of markets.
A similar shot of this beauty, posted on June 6, 2006, can be found on page 25 of my gallery.
Have an unbelievably fabulous work week.

It's that very rolled scoop petal shape that makes these fascinating, IMHO. A very pretty colour, made more interesting by the various shades created by the light and shadow.
Beautiful picture of a beautiful flower. Great depth and terrific color of a magnificant flower. Don't youjust love the scoop petals and such depth that they have ?? Fantastic it put a smile on my face. I just love a beautiful flower. :)
Very nice.
beautiful Dahlia !! i am used to the ones with longer pedals so this is interesing to me!!... love its shape and color so pretty !
My younger son once dated (took to the prom...) a girl named Dahlia. Not nearly as pretty as this though. Wonderful color and dynamite form! You are spotting some great buds here lately! :-)
What a beautiful dahlia! The color is gorgeous, and I love the way you've captured the light. I would tell you this is one of my all-time favorite dahlia forms, and it wouldn't be a lie! Of course every one I look at is my favorite in that moment . . . so . . . take that for what it's worth!
You getting pro on flowers too...good! Love the roundness of this gorgeous vivid pink dahlia. Petals form like a little baby spoons. Good to see you loading again.
Great shot, the colour and light are super.
E pluribbus unum sans Corolla.
Very nice
Perfect Dahlia, perfect shot!
