Bud and I decided to go for a hike in the woods at the park today. It's one I had never hiked in before, so it was a real adventure for us both. But I think I was more worried about getting lost than getting good pictures!! LOL A secret about me: I have absolutely NO sense of direction!!! :-/ Anyway, while walking through the woods, out from nowhere, this beautiful Monarch flutters by me. I stopped dead in my tracks, and out loud quietly I said "Oh, please land." It was about to land on a dead leaf dangling by a spider web from a tree limb. But, the second it landed, the web broke, sending the leaf to the ground and the butterfly in flight again. I was sooo disappointed. But my eyes followed it; and low n behold, it landed for me again. It 'parked' long enough for me to get several good shots of him. :) I hope your day was a good one, too. Thanks so much for stopping by. Shari

Yeah, butterflies are just too fast to be models! LOL! You were lucky. And with this intensity and lights it looks like painted. Beautiful!

Beautiful! I remember them from my childhood in Florida. Haven't seen any in Israel, so they must be native only to America. Keep up the good work. DPH

If I had a nickel for every time I said "Oh, PLEASSSSSSSSE land/stop" to a little critter. I could afford to get a camera that can catch them on the move or even in the air, lol. This is a very nice capture of this beauty and I really like the postwork. Thanks for sharing. Lee

Another beauty. You do this so well, I just can't help think your local newspaper would love an image-a-day as much as I do. Might as well get paid too, as far as I can tell. Just don't forget us! ;-))
