Description
The sight of a mob of Friesan calves on rain fed spring grass is a joy to behold. This pair complete with eartags and fencing wire hints at the highly organised nature of dairy farming in NZ. This industry forms an enormous chunk (20%) of NZ's largely agricultural based exports, and contributes 7% of GDP. There is currently a boom in dairy prices which is emabling some farmers to shed debt and others to convert from meat and wool production to dairy production.

A very imaginative subject done in a highly skilled method.
Dairy cows are sure pretty - one of the prettiest cows. Can't decide of I like the looks of these because they are dairy or because they are also doggone tender veal! :-) Great shot.
