Description
I know this is terribly grainy. It's lighted from behind by lightning. Clouds like these are vortex spawning - verticle with lots of churning. This means Head for the Basement Pronto! And I don't mean that metaphorically.

Calm before the storm? It is too bad it is so grainy but I am sure you were not thinking of great camera shot at the time. I remember living in Indiana and having to go into the basement...many times a year.
A powerful shot in many ways. :-) Geez, the only water falling from the sky around here is my neighbors sprinkler was turned up on high most of the day yesterday. I'm beginning to forget what rain looks like...
What an impressive sky, looks eerie!!
Fantastic mood ! :)
Perhaps I should clarify; it was anything but calm. A strong wind was blowing everything all around and those clouds were twisting and churning. Also, this was taken around midnight and I didn't take the time to set up a tripod for a clearer shot. :^)
Like the heavens are about to part and open up! I feel the wind in this one Ken...grainy but cool shot!
good shot. I tried to shot some like this but no luck. very good shot
Does anyone else see things in the clouds? Wonderful to look at, I think you even managed to convey the motion!
It looks about as nasty as the weather is here right NOW !!! gale force winds, monster sea's and trees falling over every where...and I have to drive home soon...EECK ! I hope we both come through un-scathed ! Awesome desructive Mother Nature capture ! ~Cheers~ :o)
