Description
I rarely see dragons this kind of yellow. It is believed to be the black tailed skimmer, but I have my doubts....maybe someone has an idea what this is.

One word: F A N T A S T I C!
Wonderful macro. I can clearly see the structure that connects the wings to the back. Very nice pov.
remarkable photo.
A beauty!
Wow wonderful. Excellent shot i know as these are hard critters to capture lol
Outstanding capture :)
The Black-tailed Skimmer, Orthetrum cancellatum, is a European dragonfly. The male has a blue abdomen with a black tip and transparent wings, and the female has a yellowish brown body with black zigzag marks along the abdomen and the transparent wings. This species has expanded its range, assisted by the creation of gravel pits which give it the extensive open unvegetated areas it prefers. It was first recorded in Great Britain in Essex in 1934. superb macro and excellent dof
Very well done!
The composition of this is brilliant and I love the detail on the wings -- alot of people would've tried to focus on the head, but the way you've done it makes the little flier look like some sort of giant, futuristic plane. Excellent.
I am not at all familiar with any species not local to me but if Richardphotos thinks it is a female Black-Tailed Skimmer then chances are pretty good that is what it is. We have Yellow-Sided Skimmers and Golden-Winged Skimmers where I live and they not only look very similar but apparently have similar preferences for open areas. This is a very nice photo of a yellow Dragonfly regardless of exact species identification. Thanks for sharing. Lee
Graceful and fascinating, you are patient to get these.
Fantastic macro ! :)
