The scale of the gorge whilst nothing like a Grand Canyon experience is nevertheless humbling especially when you look down. This view shows a pod of three daredevils strapped into a "fox" rocketing down a thread of a steel cable that will take them under the bridge and will just clear the trees on the other side. The flying fox has been engineered not to exceed speeds of 160 km/hr, lest peoples contact lenses end up inside the wrong part of their ears. The fox is the least terrifying of three adventures for the adrenalin junkie. There is the standard bungy jump of 260 feet (80m) and an unusual giant swing with a free-fall of 165 feet (50m). The swing is basically pivoted with a little bit of stretch from the wire spanning the river in the middle distance, and according to those who know is the best value for money. A small huddle stand on the balcony high on the left bank marvelling vicariously at the wisdom of such adventures.
