Description
This is a long time in coming. I have been working on this model, after which I created handpainted textures and bumpmaps texture this, render for six days, and much more.
This is going to be entered in the Lea County Fair, Lovington, New Mexico, as CG fine art division, a category I kickstarted three years ago. So far, though I've had others in the area express interest, I'm the only one who seems to work up an entry.
I work on these for days-slash-weeks to hone my skills and keep the bar raised high. I want to get entries that prospective participants can see are original models, original textures, quality renderings and worthy to be displayed.
In past years, I've had more of a "scene" than this one, but I have had to be satisfied -- render times being one huge issue for a 3500-pixel-wide image -- with a good rendering of the model on a white background.
I have a desert scene, but there are too many days left to work it up properly, and the fair is next week. I still have to get this printed, matted and framed.
Well, anyway, today, it is finished.
I would love any and all comments.

Great work, very detailed and well done! 5+++++!
Beautifully done. All the way down to the pin-striping and little leather window shades.
Well done indeed !
long project and a worth while wait... John you did a marvelous job on this coach... I been seeing you work on it from start to finish... Your texturing is also a marvel on this Stage coach wagon.. very original meticulous texturing work...
Great modeling! ;)
You are truly gifted! You must be congratulated on the superior level of detail you have given this model! I can only say, WOW!!!! Great job! I'd give it 1000 stars if I could!
Great job!
Many are called but few answer. Seeing something built up piece by piece gives assurance it is not just a broker putting up something made by a penniless slave in a dusty hovel. Your time was well spent and your mastery of the craft has allowed that be art and not just toil. The work of a free man in a world where crafty financiers crave the trust of forcing a solution. If your daddy did not teach you the trade in his workshop or even foster an apprenticeship, why would it have a background?
Great work,bravo
Reception of pleasure from the done work, this main thing. Moreover when see weights of people!!!
Excellent concept. Wonderful modelling and very classic style. Excellent technique. Congratulations !
Beautiful picture. Excellent work! I was surprised to know Guadalupe Mountains National Park was an important stop in the Butterfield Overland Mail stage line. In 1858, the Pinery (a horse-changing station), was constructed near Pine Springs. Todd
Superb!
A remarkable piece of historical modeling and rendering!
Wonderful modeling, very faithful to that type of coach. The texture work is excellent too. Great attention to detail.
