Description
Nikon 7900 image.
I am not afraid of spiders but I admit that I do not really go out of my way to handle them. I like them, I know they are very beneficial, I find them fascinating, and many are quite beautiful, but they are SPIDERS......., lol.
Here is a pretty big one. It has a leg span of around 3 inches. It sure looks better on this fishing pole than it would on my hand, lol.
I am unsure of a species identification but I think it is a Golden Huntsman. After getting a few shots, I returned it to a roof beam of my pond pavilion, where I first found it. Later that day I checked that area again and noticed it had captured a big moth. Unfortunately for various reasons I did not get any good pics of that event.
Thanks to those who take the time to comment.

Great shot and he is ... just awful :-)
I don't like spiders very much, beneficial, I'll give them that but as you said there spiders LOL. Great shot and wonderful detail!!!!
I love your spider pic. I'm glad I'm looking at a photo and not the real spider a few inches from my face!
I am seriously getting the willies from this! I think spiders are great at what the do, but personally I don't like getting to close to them (well except for Granddaddy Long Legs). Absolute fantastic shot!
Nice capture...
He/she is beautiful! The clarity of the shot is perfect! Well done!
great detail and I like the pov. It give me a nice view of the head and eyes. Wonderful!
Awesome spider shot! Such superb clarity!!!
Great macro shot, lots of detail, love the "Hairy Legs", I think I would have used a pole as well. Can't seem to find any large ones in my yard, they are all a couple of mm in size, I must keep looking.
Well I still have a phobia of spiders despite my recent handling of a tarantula but I have to say that this one is far more creepy looking than the one I held!! Dare I say it is a must see at full size to appreciate all the tiny details in this superb macro!! Fantastic capture Lee - very brave!! Hugs. xx
Fantastic macro of this spidey, Lee. Perfect, in fact; clarity, colors, light and compo.. awesome work.
Spiders and bugs I can handle ... snakes on the other hand .. shivers No way. Thanks for braving this big ole nasty bug to get a neat shot.
Very cool detail, notice what appears to be armour plating on the upper body?
Very clear and neat macro!
Creepy but very excellent!!
Excellent macro capture. I would have left it on the fishing rod and made sure I used the telephoto on this one. I like them as long as they are far away from me. ;o) Bunny
Excellent shot!
I totally freak at spiders!! Dont even like them in the same room with me!!! even though we dont have poisonous ones here in england some can still nip. i would never hurt one though. this is a super shot but i will pass at enlarging it lol!! :O)
