I usually call my construction jobs "sloppy 2x4". Some people call it toothpick art, so I figured I'd try that. With all my modeling skills, I made a flat toothpick and along with some good ol' white glue, I made this. About 1500 toothpicks. Took about three hours and that's my limit. Didn't want to get like those guys that spend 6 months making replicas of buildings with millions of real toothpicks.

De-light-ful!
Holy cow Dave, you got way too much time on your hands...lol. I could never have the patience to build something like that tower. Stupendous job of it. And a funny concept and terrific render. Love the bugs too.. Big thumbs up from Dave :^)
Absolute cool!!!
Amazing! The dragon fly and battery is the kicker.
Cute. The beetle pose is perfect and the structure looks wonderfully precarious.
Outstanding ! As usual.
Love it!!! Just hope they tested the battery before hauling it all the way up there!!! AWESOME PIC!!!!
You should have gotten some of those bugs that spurt sticky stuff to to the gluing for you. Would have saved you at least a couple of hours. Grin.
fake toothpicks are better, it seems - ridiculous and sublime at the same time. ;-)

I love it! It makes me feel the urge to get a big box of toothpics and some glue. I think there may be some unfinished boyhood projects lost in the cobweb filled corners of my mind. :)
He he he... :-) I especially love the battery being airlifted! Nicely done!
